Key Holders
Keyholders are often trusted individuals who have access to high value assets (either cash or goods), and include the following workers:
-
Security Staff
-
Managers and Assistance Managers (or a person in a position of trust)
-
Owners and/or Employees of small independent businesses who are the first to enter and last to leave their place of work.
Unfortunately today, it has become the human asset who is the weakest link in the chain of very sophisticated security equipment protecting goods, and it is because of this that keyholders have become a target for robbery and 'tiger kidnap'.
Lone workers who are keyholders risk very high levels of violence from criminals intent on gaining access to goods. The risk of violence towards keyholders and other security personnel attending premises in response to alarm activations is also soaring, and it is security staff in particular who are frequently targeted by the public and subjected to verbal and physical abuse; furthermore, prosecuting an attacker is often impeded due to a lack of evidence.
Identicom Solution:
-
Voice recordings taken when Identicom is activated can provide credible evidence against an attacker in a court of law.
-
Identicom can support the exact location of a worker should immediate assistance be required by using the GSM/LBS technology incorporated into its design.
-
Discreet activiation of Identicom's 'red alert' alarm can pre-warn a workers colleagues about potential kidnap situations by alerting them to unusual working patterns or occurences.
-
Identicom's 'amber alert' function can be configured to activate at different time intervals, to which the lone worker reponds. This gives the worker, their colleagues and their employers peace of mind that nothing untoward has occurred.
-
Identicom's open voice channel provides dual verification that an alarm is real. This has the potential to minimise the reporting of false alarms that can jeopardise future police reponse.
In 2004 the British Crime Survey showed that security and protective services staff were most at risk of violent assaults – at 14%. This high risk of conflict in a work situation can lead to higher insurance contributions, borne by employers. In helping to reduce serious risk of violence towards lone working staff, Identicom can help employers to minimise escalating insurance costs due to the high level of violence that their staff regularly face.
