Cash In Transit staff face a specific risk of robbery that is more common than often appreciated. Statistics from the BSIA (British Security Industry Association) showed that in 2007 alone there were 1059 such robberies - placing specific demands on staff during such an incident, with the potential for longer-term wider reaching illnesses caused by stress.

Site-manning security staff also regularly encounter environmental risks potentially, whether they are working on a large facility or on a more compact site.
